Meet Your Counselor

Hi, I’m Ashlea Spoonamore, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky and the founder of Butterfly Mind Counseling.

I support women navigating childhood trauma, pregnancy, postpartum, birth trauma, and life’s transitions. My goal is to offer a welcoming space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without pressure to have everything figured out.

My experience includes counseling in clinical and hospital settings, working with children, adolescents, and adults, and supporting families in Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and pediatrics. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how past experiences, relationships, and major life changes can shape emotional well-being.

I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and perinatal mental health. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, with care tailored to your needs, goals, and readiness. Together, we can explore what you’re carrying, develop tools for everyday challenges, and work toward healing at your own pace.

As a PhD student, my research interests focus on maternal mental health advocacy and access to counseling in rural and Appalachian Kentucky. I care deeply about helping women in these communities feel seen and supported.

Through Telehealth, I offer a space to pause, reconnect with yourself, and make room for your own needs. Whether you’re processing the past or finding your way through a new season, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
